Responsible Gaming

Gaming is entertainment with real financial risk. These tools help keep it that way.

21+ only. If you are under 21, you must not gamble. If you are a parent, use device controls to block gaming sites.

Short, planned sessions are the healthiest way to enjoy online games.

The 5-rule budget method

  1. Fixed amount: decide a weekly or monthly amount you can afford to lose completely.
  2. Separate wallet: keep it apart from bill and savings money — see our payments guide.
  3. Time limit: set a phone timer before every session.
  4. No chasing: when the budget is gone, the session is over.
  5. No borrowing: never use loans, credit or other people's money to play.

Warning signs

  • Spending more time or money than you planned, often
  • Hiding gambling from family or friends
  • Feeling restless or irritable when not playing
  • Playing to escape stress or to win back losses
  • Missing work, school or family time because of gaming

Problem gambling is a recognised health condition, and help works.
